Treatment of low back pain: randomized clinical trial comparing a multidisciplinary group-based rehabilitation program with oral drug treatment up to 12 months

Authers: Sedigheh Sadat TAVAFIAN, 1 Ahmad Reza JAMSHIDI2 and Kazem MOHAMMAD3

Abstract: Background: This study aimed to examine the effects of a multidisciplinary treatment program on health-related quality of life of Iranian patients living with chronic low back, at 12 months follow-up. Methods: This study is an extended follow-up of an original randomized, controlled trial with registration number NCT00600197. In the present study 87 patients in an intervention group and 91 patients in a control group were assessed at 12 months follow-up. The intervention was a ... سال انتشار: 2014

Abstract: diseaseRac1 is a regulator for cellular motility, proliferation andtransformation. A recent showed that mutations of RAC1gene are associated with higher risk of inflammatory boweldisease (IBD). These mutations increase the expression ofRac1 protein and intriguingly, loss of Rac1 expression resultsin protection from colitis [1,2].Thus we conducted a case-control study on 67 patientswith Crohn’s disease (CD) and 78 healthy individuals toidentify whether there is any association between CD andsingle nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) ... سال انتشار: 2014

Random Forests Analysis: A modern statistical method for screening in high-dimensional studies and its application in a population-based genetic association study

Authers: Sahar Noori1, Keramat Nourijelyani 2*, Kazem Mohammad3, Mohammad Hossein Niknam4, Mahdi Mahmoudi5, Laris Andonian6, and Arash Akaberi7

Abstract: Technology advances in this century, especially, in molecular generics yields high volume, high dimensional data. This creates many unprecedented challenges for statisticians who are responsible for analysis of such data. Although logistic regression method is quite popular in association analysis in medical researches but it has some serious limitations in handling high dimensional data. In present study, our goal is introduce a modern model-free statistical method called random forest that we believe is able to overcome difficulties ... سال انتشار: 2012

Treatment of Chronic Low Back Pain A Randomized Clinical Trial Comparing Multidisciplinary Group-based Rehabilitation Program and Oral Drug Treatment With Oral Drug Treatment Alone

Authers: Sedigheh Sadat Tavafian, PhD, Ahmad Reza Jamshidi, Kazem Mohammad, PhD

Abstract: This randomized clinical trial examined the efficacies of a group-based multidisciplinary rehabilitation program and oral drug treatment versus oral drug treatment alone in Iran. Methods: A total of 197 patients with chronic low back pain were randomized to either intervention group (n=97) receiving a groupbased, 5-session multidisciplinary rehabilitation program plus oral medication or to control group (n=100) receiving just oral medication. At baseline and at 3 and 6-month follow-ups, patients filled out questionnaires on health-related quality of life ... سال انتشار: 2011

The Effects of Multidisciplinary Educational Program on Quality of Life and Disability of Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain: A Clinical Trial with 3, 6, 12 and 18 Months Follow ups

Authers: Sedigheh Sadat Tavafian MD, Ahmad Reza Jamshidi MD, Kazem Mohammad PhD

Abstract: Chronic low back pain is one of the most health problems worldwide. This study aimed to examine the effects of a designed multidisciplinary program on quality of life and disability among chronic low back pain patients up to 18 months. Methods: This study followed the participants in previous randomized controlled trial up to 18 months. Therefore, data at 18- month follow up, were collected through SF-36, Ronald –Morris Disability Questionnaire, and Quebec low back pain ... سال انتشار: 2011
