خلاصه: Autoimmunity is a status that immune mechanisms react against self-structure. The immune mechanisms, including cellular and molecular elements have been developed to immune body against foreign invades. Multiple factors such as genetic and epigenetic background, hormonal status, microbiome, and other factors can cause launching the autoreactive responses, in which the immune tolerance breaks and immune mechanisms are against self-antigens. Apoptosis is one of the important mechanisms in maintaining the tolerance and eliminating the autoreactive lymphocyte ... سال انتشار: 2018

Epigenetic involvement in etiopathogenesis and implications in treatment of systemic lupus erythematous

خلاصه: Abstract Background Recent researches in the field of genetics have extended our knowledge through the discovery of genetic factors associated with autoimmune diseases (AID). Genetics by itself, however, cannot elucidate all the uncertainties encountered in the etiopathology of AID. On the other hand, incomplete harmony in the prevalence of AID in identical twins suggests that non-genetic factors may play an important role in determining the disease susceptibility. Besides, epigenetics, which is defined by changes in gene expression without a corresponding change ... سال انتشار: 2017

خلاصه: Abstract Genetic factors have a great role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases by cooperating with environmental stimuli. Killer immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) are cell surface proteins on NK cells whose association with major histocompatibility complex-I regulates their killing function. The aim of this study was to provide information on the possible association between KIR and human leukocyte antigen (HLA) genes with systemic sclerosis disease in Iranian population. A total of 279 systemic sclerosis patients and 451 healthy controls were ... سال انتشار: 2017

Abstract: The Toll-Like Receptor (TLR) family is appeared to be expressed in many cell types in the immune system and plays a role in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune diseases. The expression profile and role of TLRs in Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) have been partly explained. It is aimed through this investigation to evaluate the expression pattern of TLR 4 and 5 in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) from SSc patients. PBMCs were isolated from whole blood of ... سال انتشار: 2016

c-Abl silencing reduced the inhibitory effects of TGF-b1 on apoptosis in systemic sclerosis dermal fibroblasts

مولف: Elham Karimizadeh1 • Farhad Gharibdoost2 • Nasrin Motamed1 • Saeideh Jafarinejad-Farsangi1 • Ahmadreza Jamshidi2 • Mahdi Mahmoudi

خلاصه: It is generally accepted that the apoptosis of myofibroblasts is a crucial event in the normal wound healing. Delay in myofibroblasts apoptosis results in fibrotic diseases such as systemic sclerosis (SSc). Transforming growth factor-b1 (TGF-b1) is an important cytokine to induce fibroblasts differentiation into myofibroblasts. Cellular Abelson (c-Abl) is known as a TGF-b1- modulating molecule in fibrosis. The role of c-Abl, TGFb1, and their interaction in SSc myofibroblasts apoptosis has not yet been fully explored. The aim of this ... سال انتشار: 2015

Attenuation of fibrosis with selective inhibition of c-Abl by siRNA in systemic sclerosis dermal fibroblasts

Authers: Elham Karimizadeh • Nasrin Motamed • Mahdi Mahmoudi • Saeideh Jafarinejad-Farsangi • Ahmadreza Jamshidi • Habibeh Faridani • Farhad Gharibdoost

Abstract: Cellular abelson (c-Abl), a non-receptor tyrosine kinase, is an important molecule in the pathogenesis of systemic sclerosis. There have been reports of beneficial effects of pharmacological tyrosine kinase inhibitors, such as imatinib mesylate, on fibrosis. However, these inhibitors affect multiple tyrosine kinases including c-Abl, c-kit, and platelet-derived growth factor receptor. The effects of selective inhibition of c-Abl using small interfering RNA (siRNA) on dermal fibrosis have not yet been explored. The aim of this study is to evaluate whether ... سال انتشار: 2014

The effect of all-transretinoic acid (ATRA) was studied on cultured CD4+ T cells of patients with AS compared to controls. Methods. Eighteen patients with AS and 18 age- and sex-matched healthy controls were included. CD4+ T cells were separated and cultured in conditions of anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 stimulation with and without ATRA. Intracellular and secreted cytokines, transcription factors, ... سال انتشار: 2013

Abstract: The Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) and the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI) are widely used instruments in assessment of patients suffering from ankylosing spondylitis (AS). The Patient Acceptable Symptom State (PASS) is regarded as a target for patients’ well-being. The aim of this study was to translate and adapt BASDAI, BASFI and PASS into the Iranian official language, Farsi, and evaluate their reliability and validity. Ninety patients with AS were included in this study. The ... سال انتشار: 2012

Abstract: Selenium, like other trace elements and antioxidant enzymes, is known as an antioxidant and immunomodulator trace element. Due to recent evidence for selenium deficiency in Behcet’s syndrome, this study is to evaluate the correlation of serum selenium level with Behcet’s disease (BD). Materials: This case–control study was conducted on 46 BD patients and 46 healthy controls in a rheumatology research centre. The case and control groups were both age- and race-matched. Serum selenium level ... سال انتشار: 2011

Abstract: Zinc was suggested as an antioxidant and immunomodulator trace element in parallel with other trace elements and antioxidant enzymes. Recently selenium deficiency was indicated in Behcet disease. In this study, we evaluated the correlation of serum zinc level and Behcet disease. Background: In a cross-sectional, descriptive study serum level of zinc was measured in 49 cases satisfying International Study Group criteria and 51 controls. Serum zinc level was measured by atomic absorption spectrometry and compared the mean of serum ... سال انتشار: 2009
